It's not the end of the world..

Bismillah.

Picture this. You come home from what seems to be the worst day of your life, nothing has been going your way; you probably got stuffed in a locker, forgot to tie your shoes, or two drunk white guys attempted to hit on you in an elevator (it happens, trust me). Then you come home, hoping to finally get a break from the chaos in the real world, when you realize that not only did you lose a $20 while you were out, but you forgot your entire wallet on the bus. Cue the emotional breakdown.

Now at a time like this, most level headed people would take advantage of this situation and say something stupid like "it's not the end of the world". As if reminding someone that the world is still intact is going to make everything better. On the contrary, it would probably make the situation worse and result in someone getting a black eye...since the person mentioned above really has nothing to lose.

On a serious note though, I remember last week at jumu'ah salah the imam was talking about this saying in the khutba. Sadly, I really don't remember everything he said so I'm just gonna wing it.

Basically, no matter how bad your day is going, always remember that it could be worse. If today was a bad day, you have tomorrow and the rest of your life to make it better.

So suck it up.
